A Lichfield and Leicester accountancy practice has helped two publicans secure the purchase of a traditional village pub in Woodseaves, North Staffordshire.
Paul Bulzacchelli of Inspired Accountants was instrumental in advising and assisting Phil Boden of Burntwood and Paul Treadwell of Chorley in gaining the finance to purchase the Cock Inn.
“We needed a 40% deposit and with the banks not lending as freely as they once were, we decided to speak to Inspired Accountants to see if there were any alternative methods of financing the purchase. Fortunately for us Paul Bulzacchelli was able to advise us of an alternative and highly tax effective way of purchasing the pub”, said Paul Treadwell.
Commenting on the structure of the finance, Paul Bulzacchelli said: “Without going into any great detail, after reviewing of our client’s circumstances I was able to advise upon a bespoke and highly tax efficient finance solution which not only works perfectly with their current situation but also has the longevity to fit with their long-term business plan.”
The pub officially opened its doors on 14th May after being sympathetically renovated. Speaking about the pub Phil Boden said: “We initially decided to bid for the Cock Inn due to the potential we saw and the opportunity to add value to the business. Our vision for the pub is centered on being a traditional pub with authentic fixtures, stocking a range of quality beers, wines and spirits, and having a community feel where people can play such games as darts and dominos. You won’t find televisions or fruit machines here, but we are planning to hold regular entertainment nights where we’ll have a singer, run darts and dominos competitions and put on Barbeques.”
The Cock Inn is situated on Newport Road in Woodseaves, has free parking and a beer garden. The pub was purchased from Punch Taverns for an undisclosed sum and will use Banks’s as its main supplier along with other breweries including Holden’s.
